Daar zijn geen regels voor,
wij doen het meestal 2 x per
jaar. De meiden vaak na dat
ze loops zijn geweest, of na
de verharing.
En dan pakken we de reuen
gelijk mee.
Vaak wacht ik tot het mooi
weer is, zodat ze zoveel
mogelijk buiten kunnen
opdrogen. Anders moet je het
het haar goed droog föhnen.
De ondervacht van een
sheltie kan behoorlijk lang
nat blijven.
Bathing
There are
no rules for the frequency
of bathing the sheltie. We
usually bathe them twice a
year. The girls after they
have been on heat, or
finished shedding, and the
boys join in the fun. It is
easier to do it when the
weather is nice, then they
can go outside to dry. If
not, the hair should be blow
dryed and that can take a
long time for a sheltie with
a heavy undercoat.
Wet the
coat with lukewarm water,
keep the head as dry as
possible (donot use cotton
wool for the ears), and soap
it with a special shampoo
for dogs
